DR.SARAH TINSLEY, PH.D.

Head of School /Logic and Rhetoric History

Dr. Tinsley graduated from the University of GA with a B.S. and M.S. in Environmental Soil and water quality. She received her Ph.D. at VA Tech in Environmental Water Quality through a full fellowship. She also took courses in Teaching College. When she moved to Barnesville, GA, she began teaching at Gordon College. She came to Coram Deo in 2004 and started as a 5th/6th-grade teacher. Over the years, she became head of the school and the logic and rhetoric history teacher. She and her husband Scott have nine children together, seven of whom have attended Coram Deo. She enjoys jogging, biking, hiking, and traveling.

LAURA ALTON

Rhetoric School Sciences

Mrs. Alton  has a great love of science because she feels it truly reflects an amazing Creator.  She has a B.S. in Biology from Kennesaw State University and a Masters of Medical Science from Emory School of Medicine. She is a physician assistant practicing Emergency Medicine. Her goal is to let her love of science and its Designer spill over into her classroom. She and her family attend Heatherwood Baptist Church.

ERIN BURLAGA

Rhetoric Latin and Literature

Mrs. Burlaga attended Coram Deo and graduated in 2017. She went on to earn a B.A. in Humanities with a Minor in Classical Language from Boyce College, a Christian Liberal Arts College in Kentucky.  She was hired to teach Latin at Coram Deo in January of 2021, and by the end of 2022 completed her M.A. in English. Erin and her husband were blessed in August 2022 with their first daughter, Aravis. She and her family are members of Christ Church SMA where together they are youth small group leaders in Student Ministry. She also enjoys time with her family, documentaries, Latin derivatives/etymology, cooking, and reading.

KRISSY BUSH

Administration-Director of Student Affairs 8th-12th

Mrs. Bush received her Liberal Arts degree from Delta College in California.  She then earned a B.A. in English from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She moved to Georgia and taught preschool and kindergarten at a local Christian school. Krissy and her husband Tracy have two sons, both are students at Coram Deo.  She and her family attend FBC PTC where together they are small group leaders in Student Ministry. She also enjoys time with her family, reading, exercising and traveling.

AMY COFFEE

Rhetoric American Literature

Mrs. Coffee attended North Georgia College where she received a B.A. degree in English with a minor in secondary education. She taught high school English in the public school system and worked as a Constituent Services Representative for Senator Paul Coverdell at his Atlanta office before having children. She loves American and Southern Lit and spends her free time reading, traveling, and spending time with her family on their farm. Amy and her husband  have four children, and they are members of White Oak A.R.P. Church in Senoia.

MIRIAM DE PEÑA

Spanish I, II

Mrs. DePena was born in Puerto Rico and was raised in a Christian home. While living in the Bahamas, she learned English and became a Christian. She moved to the Dominican Republic and discovered a passion for teaching. After she graduated as a Bilingual Executive Secretary, she began her studies in early childhood education. Millie married Jose in 1987 and moved to the United States. Together they have three beautiful daughters. She taught Spanish to all grades at Fayette Christian School and became a certified Spanish teacher by the Georgia Association of Christian Schools. She has been teaching Spanish at Coram Deo since 2006.

JAMIE FISHER

Logic and Rhetoric Math

Mrs. Fisher graduated from Southern Polytechnic State University in 1994 with an Industrial Engineering degree. In April 2000, after the birth of her first child, Jamie and Jeff made the decision for Jamie to stay home. She absolutely loves teaching math at Coram Deo and enjoys the opportunity to teach in a Christ-centered environment where she is allowed the privilege of speaking about her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Jamie and her family attend Crossroads Church. She also enjoys gardening, bible studies, and family time.

RENEE GARRETT

Grammar School/Kindergarten

Mrs. Garrett graduated from Atlanta Christian College in 2003 with a BA in Business Administration. She and her husband married in 2008. They have two children.  She joined the Coram Deo family as a parent when her daughter started Kindergarten. Three years later, she joined the teaching staff as the Kindergarten teacher, and has enjoyed every minute of it. She and her family attend Sovereign Hope Church in Senoia, where her husband serves alongside the elders. The Garretts enjoy time together as a family as well as spending time with their church family.

JASON HOWELL

8th Grade Core, Apologetics, Philosophy, Sr. Literature, Ancient History, Government/Economics, Greek, Bible Surveys, Logic, & Rhetoric, Art History

Mr. Howell graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with a B.S. in Christian Ministries with a minor in music in 2004 and from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary with an M.Div. in Advanced Biblical Studies in 2007. He has previously served as a youth pastor for various local churches in GA. He has taught a variety of subjects in classical schools such as Bible, literature, history, government, economics, logic, philosophy and grammar.  He is married to Tara and together they have five children: Ethan, Elaina, Emmarie, Ezra, and Eden.

CYNTHIA KINNEY

Finances/Transcripts

Mrs. Kinney received her B.S. in Education from Baylor University. After graduating, she taught 6th grade in Arlington, Texas. She resigned from teaching to help run the family business. After moving to Newnan, GA, she began schooling her children and joined Coram Deo in 2005. She is married to Chuck and has two daughters and a son. All three graduated from Coram Deo, two were valedictorians! She and Chuck are members of First Baptist Church PTC. Cynthia enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and inventing new recipes for her family.

ANNE LUPO

Pre-Calculus /  AP® Calculus AB & BC

Mrs. Lupo graduated with her Bachelors and Master degrees in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech. She is married to Todd, who is also an engineer. She worked as a Project Engineer before coming to Coram Deo. A mother of 3, she has been blessed to be a stay-at-home mom for the past 14 years. Anne tutors all levels of math. Her family is active in their church, Evergreen Church of Peachtree City. In the past, she has taught Sunday School, as well as, served as the Director of Vacation Bible School for 5 years.

LEEAURA MARCUM

Chorale and Musical Director

Mrs. Marcum graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music degree (with a double major in Piano Pedagogy and Vocal Performance) from Columbia College in South Carolina in 1987.  She received her Master of Music Education degree in Piano from Belmont University in Nashville in 1995. She and her husband, Michael, have four children with three of them graduating from Coram Deo. She and her husband are members of Faith Bible Church. As a family, they enjoy playing music and spending time together.

BECKY PEELER

Grammar School/Second Grade

Mrs. Peeler received a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Bob Jones, her M.A. in Education from GA State University and her Education Specialist  degree at West GA University. She retired from teaching in 2020, and then she realized she missed teaching. She joined Coram Deo in 2022.  She loves books and teaching students to read. She is married to Allen and they are members of Faith Bible Church where they teach Sunday school together.  They have three grown children.

JESSICA PEELER

Rhetoric Chemistry

Mrs. Peeler loves to show students how our God is in control of everything, even down to the smallest atom.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of West Georgia and a Master of Science from Tennessee State University.  After studying Chemistry, she later graduated with a degree in Nursing and also works part time as a Nurse Practitioner.  She is married to Adam Peeler and has nine children.  They attend Carriage Lane Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City.

Daniel Plunkett

Logic Science and Rhetoric Math and Sciences

Mr. Plunkett grew up in Jonesboro and graduated from GA Tech twice! His first degree is a BS in Mechanical Engineering and the second degree is a Masters in Mathematics. He enjoys exercising, basketball, short term missions and reading. He attends New Hope Baptist Church.

KATIE SABA

Grammar School/Grades 4, 5 and 6

Ms. Saba thoroughly enjoyed attending Coram Deo in her high school years. She graduated from Coram Deo as the valedictorian of the 2010 class. Katie then attended the University of West Georgia and graduated in December 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in English Education. She accepted a position as a middle school English teacher at a charter school for her first two years of teaching and has been teaching at Coram Deo since 2018. In her spare time, Katie serves in her church and is currently enrolled as a graduate student in the Christian Classical Studies program at New Saint Andrews College. She also enjoys running, baking, good stories, and dinners with family.

TONI SABA

 Grammar School/ Math 4

Mrs. Saba has been with Coram Deo since 2008. She studied at Columbus State and Armstrong Atlantic in health sciences. She worked professionally for BCBS of GA as a physician and hospital liaison. Toni is married to Joe, who is a retired electrical engineer. Together they have three grown children, two daughters and a son. Both daughters are classically trained teachers, one at Arma Dei in Colorado and one at Coram Deo. Their son is a Coram Deo graduate and attends the University of West GA. After 10 years as an administrator for Coram Deo, Toni is now content to be a teacher. She is a life long learner who loves to help children see God in all subjects.

ANISSA SNYDER

Grammar School/Grade 1

Mrs. Snyder graduated Cum Laude with an associates degree from Florida College. Later, she completed Emergency Medical Technician training school and worked as a phlebotomist. She and her family attend Faith Bible church where together they serve in Sunday school and coordinate the nursery.

AMY STEINKLAUBER

Curriculum Team, Logic School – Grade 7/Rhetoric Latin

Mrs. Steinklauber graduated from Southeastern Bible College with a B.A. degree in Secondary English Education. She taught 7th Grade English at Madras Middle School for three years. She also taught 6th-8th grade English at Trinity Christian School for three years. She is married to John, children’s pastor at Trinity Fellowship Church, and has two sons: Johnny and James. Amy is active in her church and enjoys reading, crafts, and family time.

JAN STOREY

K-7 Administration, Math 3

Mrs. Storey received her B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of West Florida, where she received the President’s Award. She is married to Dr. Eric Storey, a local veterinary ophthalmologist, and has two boys, Caleb and Codey. She taught for four years at a Christian Classical school in Baton Rouge, LA, before moving to Griffin, GA in 2016 where she continued classically instruct their children. The boys have been at Coram Deo since 2019, and she has been teaching Math 3 at Coram Deo since 2021. In 2022 she accepted the position of K-7 Administrator and looks forward to continuing to serve children and their families in Classical Christian Education.

JAMIE WALKER

Rhetoric Math and Sciences

Mr. Walker graduated with a  B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech and an A.S. in Chemistry from Waycross College.  He spent 25 years in the corporate world as a computer programmer and has taught science, math, and Bible to high school students in the Coweta-Fayette area since 2015.  His love for teaching is fueled by a desire to direct students to the glorious God who designed the laws and principles which guide the physical universe.  He and his wife, Lori, have 3 boys–Micah, Jonas, and Joshua. The oldest two are at Auburn and LSU, respectively, while the youngest is still in high school.

BECKY WALTER

Grammar School/Grades 3 and 4

Mrs. Walter moved from California to Georgia in 2018 to be closer to grandchildren. She graduated from Geneva College (PA) with a B.S. in Education. She has taught at Christian schools for over 3o years. Mrs. Walter loves children and has a heart to guide them in the ways of the Lord. She and her husband John attend Faith Bible Church.
